This collection is the organisational core around which all the bibliographic collections and purchases made by the Focus-Abengoa are registered and organised. It is what determines the general bibliographic record and the standarised inclusion of the different collections which are expanding the library over time in a database.

This General Collection started to be formed even before 1982, the year the Foundation was created. It includes a wide range of bibliographic items on both Seville and general subjects related to literature, history art, economics and other topics, along with manuscripts and all kinds of publications related to the Baroque and coming from purchases, donations and diverse legacies. Via this matrix, the three basic cores of the library are organised virtually: the Seville - Themed - Collection, the Centro Velázquez Baroque Library and the Alfonso E. Pérez Sánchez Legacy.
