El Greco, conocido y redescubierto

El Greco, conocido y redescubierto

In 1998, the Focus-Abengoa Foundation in Seville, Central Hispano Foundation in Madrid and Asturias Fine Arts Museum hosted El Greco. Conocido y redescubierto exhibition, a group of works by the Greek-Spanish artist focused on popular worship. The display, organized by Focus-Abengoa and curated by Alfonso E. Pérez Sánchez, showed the public the quality and beauty of El Greco’s output, as well as his very personal aesthetic language, through the works exhibited, on loan by private collectors. After an important research and recovery process, this exhibition featured the Apostolado paintings, owned at that time by the Marquises of San Feliz, and whose restoration was scientifically assessed by Alfonso E. Pérez Sánchez.
