Arte Romano de la Bética. Escultura

Out of print

The second part of the three-volume collection Arte romano de la Bética upgrades the existing knowledge about sculpture during the Roman period in Andalusia and, at the same time, brings to light some newly discovered or little known artworks. The study shows the influence of the sculpture made in Rome on Andalusian pieces as well as provincial factors concerning customers’ preferences, exigency and purchase power. Our Foundation published the trilogy coordinated by Pilar León, which was part of a wider program that also included the exhibition entitled El rescate de la Antigüedad clásica en Andalucía (2008) and a research project on the archaeological site in Sanlúcar la Mayor.
