Published by our Foundation with the sponsorship of Abengoa, this volume compiles photographs, selected by Gerardo F. Kurtz, that capture Seville in the 19th century. The book is divided into two main chapters. On the one hand, “Obras maestras” includes especially old, curious or beautiful images of great documentary and artistic value that focus on monumental sites in the city. On the other hand, the pictures in “Sevilla en blanco y negro” show Seville from human and social points of view: floods, slums, child labor or the coming of railway, for instance.
