The fourth volume of Iconografía de Sevilla starts off with the significance of the city after Romanticism not only as an exotic site, but also as a paradigm of the Spanish way of life. The remaining chapters address important issues to understand the image the city itself showed to the world as well as the image visitors spread: constant themes for travelers and writers, painting on local matters, folkloric and historical research or analysis of magazines and illustrated books that created or disseminated a specific image of the city. This book rounds off a large corpus of graphic information divided into four parts about Seville from the late Middle Ages on.
