Co-published by our Foundation and the Society of Jesus on the occasion of the bicentenary of the restoration of the Order by Pope Pius VII, this book reviews the history of the Jesuits in Seville and Andalusia from its expulsion in 1767 to 1815. Since its establishment in 1554, the religious community left a social mark through apostolic work as well as important artistic heritage in the city. The church of the Annunciation, the novitiate of San Luis de los Franceses or the college of San Hermenegildo are three examples of the way the Society of Jesus also made the difference in Sevillian history of art.
