Aníbal Ollero Baturone

The IV Prize Javier Benjumea Puigcerver Research awarded the studies of Aníbal Ollero Baturone, Professor of System Engineering and Automation of University of Seville, on application of robotics in natural environments, where the conditions vary widely. These technological innovations include machine vision and management for unmanned vehicles and aircrafts, for instance. Using these tools would allow to detect and monitor forest fire, calculate the size of fish within ponds or inspect buildings with unmanned aerial vehicles, which leads to better protection of people and the environment, safer performance of hazardous work and exploration of remote areas.
